Based on a true story, this film follows two fighters from the 'Donbas' Volunteer Battalion who become trapped in the city of Ilovaysk when the regular Russian army enters Ukraine and shells the surrounded Ukrainian Army divisions. The fighters survive thanks to the help of local residents and eventually break out through the front line to reach the liberated territory. In the film, Taras Kostanchuk, who plays himself as 'Beshoot,' is the real-life Donbas commander who inspired the story. Notably, half of the actors and extras in the film are actual 'Donbas' volunteers who survived the battle, adding authenticity and emotional depth to the narrative.
